Most people can't start their own business or franchise the traditional style; that's why I find network marketing so facinating! NWM gives everyone the opportunity, regardeless of age, gender, social status and education, the opportunity to have a successful business, as long as we have a desire to learn and don't go at it with a lottery mentality.

Have you had any involvement with network marketing? What are your thoughts on it? Good, bad, neutral....

One thing to remember when starting up a network marketing style business is that it will have monthly expenses just as a traditional style business does. The difference is that the expenses are a lot lower, usually between $100 and $150 as opposed to over $1000, plus the start-up cost is super low, usually in the range of $40 to $200. In addition, a network marketing type business offers us the freedom to work the hours we want, and you definitely never need to put more than 40 hours a week into it; actually usually only 5-7 hours a week is sufficient.
A cool thing about building a business like this is that it's completely around our schedule. If we have too much going on in our life, we can focus on simply getting the discount ourselves on products we love and use every day. Once our schedules are a bit more relaxed, we can focus an hour a day to tell others about the products and business opportunity. Where else can you find a way to build a business that is so convenient?
I think Network Marketing is a great thing IF you have good, solid company behind you...but remember any company is subject to bankruptcy, changing times and more....I have learned to NEVER EVER put all my eggs in one basket.

Honestly, I found having a blog or two with a few affiliate marketing links and maybe some advertising helped with cash flow. And because of the health care reform bill and a bad economy (my biz being health benefits)....I ended up making more money with my blogs than my biz at times.

I also saw a need out there...everyone kept asking me how to start a blog, what to do, etc.....

So now I do blog coaching and a radio show about blogging, social networking, etc...

Still have my home biz- as long as I'm making money...

On the flip side, network marketing is great for most people- if they understand the length of time it takes to get to the top and the steps to get there.

Tip-top training!

I can't believe the profiles on social networking sites that have no Twitter, FB or blogs listed.

To be successful, you have to integrate these methods along with your offline marketing- there is just too much competition out there. The guy that works the hardest, in as many different avenues as possible is going to stand out....

BTW- on my radio show - Get Bizzy Blogging tomorrow night, I have a guest- Denice Duszynski- Social Networking site(s) owner/CEO.

Come listen to what she has to say about marketing with social network sites.
It's definitely important to do our research and sign up with a company that is solid.

Yes, I agree, Mahendra; Network Marketing style businesses are the best solution to live a good life for many reasons. I teach my kids Financial Education as one of their homeschool classes, and that is one of the things I teach them. They will get a chance to invest in their own business once they turn 18, something few kids had the chance to do in their lifetime, let alone when they first get out of high school.
Network Marketing | A Lesson I Learned At Age 5

Since the dawn of time, man has worked hard to improve his existence.

Even in this rich country, many are still working hard to make ends meet. It's a mystery to me how some can live so well, with expensive cars, big house, cabin in the mountains and by the sea, and a yacht, at the pier.

Talents and education do not make up the great difference ... so how does this really come about?

I have learned the key is not to be smarter than everybody else, nor to have the right education, but in exploiting opportunities and taking chances, be willing to bet on what one believes in and not give up, at the first resistance.

I have found everybody has these talents, and everybody can develop them.

However, we must accept the fact that what we're doing determines what we're getting, and what we're thinking determines what we're doing.

I have found the conditioning that we've been exposed to through our upbringing, education and work has created the attitudes that direct our thoughts and thereby our actions.

I have learned the sooner we accept this fact the sooner we can start taking control over our life and steering it in the right direction.

I have found we need help from someone who has gone through the same process, ie. a coach or mentor. It's also of vital importance that we work on this ourselves.

I have learned that nothing worthwhile is ever free or easy!

I have found personal, especially economical, goals are often perceived as signs of selfishness and greed. So know that whoever gives a lot, gets a lot. Only through giving can we ever become genuinely rich.

I have found that doing the Network Marketing business that what I'm doing now has made me discover the true meaning of life itself, as I see it.

I have found this to be the most satisfying task anyone can take on. So let me say a few words about this great business. Watch this 4 minute video.

I have learned the principles for "The Ideal Business" was formulated more than 50 years ago.

I have found most of us recommend things we like to our friends without expecting or getting anything in return. We've been doing it since about the age of 5, so we're more or less fully educated experts, and the transition from doing it for free to getting paid is very small.

I have found Network Marketing may be the world's most misunderstood business model, but it's also one of the most ethical, fair and humane (philantrophic) ones in existence.

I have found most people truly want what we have in Network Marketing, however they just don’t see a way to do it and be successful.

If you want an improvement in life, I have learned that the best way to achieve it is to help other people improve theirs.

In other words, I will help you become successful because I have found this is what Network Marketing is all about.

We have found a way, through Network Marketing, to work part-time on our fortune and we are now earning, twice as much money as we have working full-time, on the job.

Wouldn’t you like to hear our story?

I'd like to share with you my blog article on 7 reasons why I believe building a business network marketing style is so amazing: http://abundantenergyhealthclub.com/blog/2011/03/31/7-reasons-why-n...

Network Marketing is all about DUPLICATION. It's not about doing things our way, but doing something that can be duplicated so we can leverage our time and income. We can reach a lot more people when we teach just a handful of people to DUPLICATE what we do, and have them teach a handful of people to duplicate what they do.

Here are my feelings on Network Marketing.  Unfortunately, this Industry attracts lots of people that have not succeeded at all in business and often all the traits and habits that have not worked in the other businesses and experiences are repeated in this arena.   Though we are all successful in life we often don't bring to our business the success skills it will take.  My motto is before you quit something excel in it in some fashion and then bring that to your business.  At my age now I am going to raise the bar in my life period and it is not easy because I have lots of bad habits and patterns that keep me in the same place.  I am completely getting my body in the most amazing shape of my life.  Even though I have run a couple of Marathons etc.... I still was not in the best shape.  Once I raise the bar on getting into shape I am bringing the success skills to everything else including relationships, adventure etc....and business and dare to live the life of my dreams not what was programed into me.  Most people do not even know why they want a business let alone succeed at it.

To An Amazing Successful Life,

Maurita

Thanks for sharing your feelings about this profession. As you mentioned, we can't start a business just thinking we will be successful and yet have a ton of bad traits and habits we haven't worked through, and don't treat our business endeavors as an actual business. We must build this business as if we were building any other business, only this one offers us a way to do it at low cost. Here's a cool blog article written by a FB friend that sheds some light on this subject: http://flavianmoki.com/mindset/big-internet-business-lies/

Thanks!  Also here is something that anyone can advertise and just get a feel what it is like to have people sign up with you. lots of people love this as it is non threatening.  You can put the link anywhere.  Also, if you love chocolate forget the advertising and print out the 100 recipes and put them in a folder.

Enjoy,

Maurita
